Pomegranate Juice Extraction Machine & Processing Line in China

Pomegranate juice is widely recognized for its high antioxidant content, vibrant color, and health benefits. However, processing pomegranates industrially presents unique challenges due to their complex structure, including thick peel, internal membranes, and seeds.

In China, modern pomegranate juice processing lines are designed to maximize juice yield while minimizing bitterness and preserving nutritional value.

The process begins with washing and sorting, where pomegranates are cleaned using spray or bubble washing systems. Sorting removes damaged or unripe fruits to ensure consistent juice quality.

The most critical step is aril separation (seed extraction). Specialized pomegranate deseeding machines are used to separate the edible arils from the peel and membrane. This process must be gentle to avoid breaking the seeds prematurely, which would release tannins and cause bitterness.

Once separated, the arils are transferred to the juice extraction system. Pressing pressure must be precisely controlled. Excessive force can crush the seeds, negatively affecting taste and clarity. High-quality systems use controlled pressing or belt presses to extract juice efficiently.

The extracted juice is then filtered to remove pulp particles. Because pomegranate juice is rich in polyphenols, it is highly susceptible to oxidation. Therefore, deaeration systems are used to remove dissolved oxygen, preserving color and flavor.

For certain products, juice may undergo clarification or concentration. Vacuum evaporation allows concentration at low temperatures, protecting bioactive compounds.

Sterilization is carried out using tubular or UHT systems, ensuring safety while maintaining quality. Finally, aseptic filling ensures long shelf life and prevents contamination.
